Tragedy at our house...

Our momma guinea pig was killed by a neighbor dog. We are so sad!
Looking on the positive side it has given our little family something to do together.
We are feeding the babies kitten milk (yes, I guess Focker was right, you can milk anything with teets) through little syringes.
The babies are seriously the cutest guinea pigs we've ever seen!
Here are a few pictures....

We are slowly introducing the dad to the babies. We got the dad for free. He is long haired and cool looking. You can see a picture of the mom in the previous post.

This is all four of them. Dave has named them after the Rat pack. Sammy, Joey, Frankie and Deano. They are all so unique!!!

This one has a tan face.

This one has a black face with a tan spot by its eye.

This one looks the most like the mom. It's body looks like half mom and half dad.
Here is David.
Here is Joey.

And Dave is holding the Runt that is the most unique. It's hair is curly!

Summer Fun...

First of all, for the most recent news our guinea pigs had babies...
Four of them, and they are absolutely adorable!!!!This is some of my cousins at the Harry Potter movie,
in case you can't tell there is Hermoine, a Weesley, Harry and his owl Hedgwick(sp?).
I have not seen the movie but I helped get these guys ready and they loved the movie.
For FHE we went to a really fun park in St. G. It is a new one across the river from my in-laws home.

My bro and sis -in-law have a pool in there back yard (which is basically a necessity in St. G). We have been swimming there a ton!

This is a not so good picture of my boys at Seven Peaks before we ventured to St. G for the summer. Can't wait to go to 7 Peaks this weekend!

That is a little bit of what we have been up to. I Love my family and feel so blessed to have them. And all of my friends that I feel are practically family. They all make life a little easier and a lot more enjoyable!

Thoughts...

I have been blog surfing and have seen quite a few funny blogs. Mine seems to always be so serious. I have a lot of serious experiences that I want to share, but that does not mean that I am serious all the time. I promise. I have Fun!

So here is another serious post...

Last week in Sunday school a guy shared a scripture that said we are basically commanded to bare testimony and share the spiritual things we are taught.

So here is one "AH-HA" moment I had the other day that I consider a spiritual experience and want to share... I am not the best with words and I am not claiming to be the most spiritual person, however if someone else can learn from my experiences then they are definitely worth sharing, even if the sharing only helps me.

I have often wondered about the scripture in the New Testament where Christ asks some guys to leave everything they have and come follow Him. (I was going to look it up, but I haven't so I am just assuming you all know the story) Anyways, I believe the story goes that one of the guys can't give up all his riches and leave everything behind. So then my wondering leads me to thinking what would I do if I was asked to give up everything I had to Follow HIM? Would I be able to do it? Would I do it with a willing, happy heart, and would I even be willing to do it at all???

I have thought how could that actually happen? What would it actually look like? Will we all be asked to walk to Missouri or Adam-ondi-ahmen(sp?)? My ah-ha moment was when I realised that I have, in a way, been asked to give up alot to follow Him (though nothing compared to others, it seems like a lot to me). I maybe have not been the happiest camper the whole way but I recognize He has been with me, supporting me, helping me carry the load I believe He has asked me to carry.

Can you see instances in your life where you have been asked to give up something that you love to follow Him? Some women give up careers to have families, some people give up alcohol or other addictions, some people give up homes, cars, fancy stuff. Some people, when they choose to follow Him, even lose their families. What have you been asked to give up to follow HIM? How have you done? I am glad that I have had this opportunity to examine my attitude and realize that I can do it, only with His help of course.

Here is a picture of the boys at a Roadrunners baseball game in St. G at the Bruce Hurst field. We were able to go to two games this last week together and it was a lot of fun. It's hot, but nice to be doing something together as a family. Thanks to my Uncle Ed for his help. He is the best announcer in the WORLD!

Time.....

Here are some kindof random thoughts I have been having lately....
But first here is a picture Dave took on his phone and sent to my phone...
The sunsets are amazing in St. G, as they can be everywhere, but I have a special connection with them in St. G.

Joey and David Leishman

are my favorites!!!!

It is about time I post again. I have been enjoying the amount of time we have been in St. G lately. I love seeing my family! I also enjoy seeing random people that I have not seen for months or years. Luckily we have FB and blogs to keep us up to date with each other so when we actually see each other it is not terribly awkard.

My family is the BEST ever, I swear!

I love seeing friends all over town.

My internship is going well in South Jordan. I am enjoying working with these youth, making a difference in people's lives. I love these kids. It is hard to hear about the crap they have been through, but it is nice to be able to help them through it. I am greatful for the chance Heavenly Father has given me to help others. I hope and pray that I can be an instrument in His hands for good, without neglecting my own children, of course. I have to remember that they are HIS children though and He will not forget them!

The last two weeks for FHE we have played games. We played Sorry and Yahtzee. I love spending time with my boys! I miss them when we are not together. I am trusting that they are being watched over though. As long as I am doing what is right I know all will be well. I don't know what the Lord's definition of "well" is either, but I KNOW that I can do all things with His help.

That is it for now.

Lots-o-love-

Marilla
