If the Savior Stood Beside Me...

It was the primary program yesterday in our ward. I love to see the little children singing and hear their words of wisdom. My own little David did such a great job! And then this little 4 year old girl sang "Tell me the stories of Jesus" SOLO. It was beautifully sweet. Anyways, one of the songs that they sang I love the words and music too. And I wanted to post them here...

1.
If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do?
Would I think of His commandments and try harder to be true?
Would I follow His example? Would I live more righteously
If I could see the Savior standing nigh, watching over me?

2.
If the Savior stood beside me, would I say the things I say?
Would my words be true and kind if He were never far away?
Would I try to share the gospel? Would I speak more reverently
If I could see the Savior standing nigh, watching over me?

3.
“He is always near me, though I do not see Him there,
And because He loves me dearly, I am in His watchful care.
So I’ll be the kind of person that I know I’d like to be
If I could see the Savior standing nigh, watching over me.”

Momma and Joey time...

I try to spend a lot of time with my boys on the days I do not have school. This was one of those days. Joey and I went to the mall and decided to get a Coldstone Ice Cream and share it. We got one called birthday something, because it was the day after my birthday, and it consists of brownie for mom, and sprinkles for Joey, mixed in cakebatter flavored icecream. YUMMY!
It was so much fun hanging out with just the two of us.
Joey really is a sweet boy!

Lately... IT"S FALL!

Here are a few things we have been doing to enjoy the Fall weather....Dave took the boys outside yesterday to play in leaves and make a scarecrow. I didn't do too well getting the camera out for all of it, but I did have my phone and took these two.
David and Joey at Albertsons. I thought this was cute and they wanted to take a picture anyway so I agreed.
I tried to get everyone to put their heads in here, but noone else would. Love my Joey!
We went to a corn maze family place for FHE with some neighbors.
We love this time of year!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!

AND TO THE WOMAN WHO GAVE ME LIFE...here is a shout out to you.Stay tuned for 27 reasons I love you mom!
I am 27 now, thus the reason for 27...
(Is it bad to just go back in and add things to a post??? Well here goes for the 27 reasons I love and appreciate my mom...)
1. She is beautiful inside and out. (Look at how beautifully she has gone gray.)
2. She is patient. (She has four out of five of her kids living with her now.)
3. She's got a beautiful singing voice. (She sings in the Heritage Choir in St. George, and I miss hearing her singing in sacrament meeting.)
4. She went to almost every girls camp I did as a YW. (The only reason I know this is because one year I really missed hearing her singing "Oh what a beautiful morning" at the but crack of dawn.)
5. She is a team player and gets stuff done. (If you give her an assignment she always goes above and beyond to help.)
6. She is supportive. (She lets me make my own decisions and then supports me in them whether she likes them or not.)
7. She is dependable. (This kinda goes along with 5, but if I need her she is there!)
8. She is respectful of mine and others space and always has been.(Growing up I could have left my journal out and knew that she would not read it.)
9. She is a peacemaker. (She has my two older brothers at her house now... and if you know their relationship you know it takes a peacemaker to live with them together.)
10. She is loyal!
11. She listens super well, and only shares her opinion when asked. (This is huge for me, I have had to learn from her example.)
12. She is sooo honest. (I have learned this from her and tried to follow her example as well.)
13. She is a great example. (Don't all of these examples testify of that?)
14. She is a wonderful grandma. (She loves my boys and the and the other 8 grandkids that are living with her. She doesn't even call the step ones, "step" they are her grandkids too!)
15. She works hard (even still) for her family.
16. She loves her family! (ALL OF THEM, she has nine brothers and sisters, and practically knows all 30+ of their kids names and birthdays by heart.)
17. She loves my dad and always did! (As do I, he was the BEST dad ever.)
18. Did I say her gray hair is amazing and BEAUTIFUL!
19. She has a beautiful smile.(When she uses it, she is definitely not cheesie.)
20. She welcomes people in her home anytime. (All through the years I couldn't even tell you how many people we had living with us. It was a party!)
21. She is giving. (She would do anything she possibly could for me or anyone else.)
22. She shares her extras. (She has got this great craft room that I usually use stuff from when I go there, I don't even need to go to the craft store, she's got it all right there.)
23. She is talented. (Singing-which was previously mentioned, she can sew just about anything, she can paint just about anything, she can nit just about anything, need I say more? You should see some of the quilts and afghans she has done.)
24. She is very forgiving. (She may not forget, but she can surely forgive! I was a tiny bit of a stinker and she still loves me but she sometimes doesn't let me forget.)
25. She gave me life!!!!
26. She is thoughtful. (Always the first to call me on my birthday and other occassions.)
27. AND LASTLY, but certainly not least... SHE LOVES ME!
I hope you all know and love my mom a little more because of this. She is great! I love you mom!
This is my mom and I when we went to get my little bro. from his mish in Rome, Italy.

My In-Laws

Ok so I must admit that I think I have the best in-laws ever. They are just about as quirky and crazy as my husbands in-laws....These are My in-laws, Dave's parents, Truman and Carol. They are such great parents and terrific grandparents. This is at the Christus statue on temple square in Salt Lake City. This is the day before they entered the MTC in Provo to prepare for their mission to the West Indes.
This is the whole fam damily after Truman and Carol's "farewell talks" the last weekend in September. (We were only missing one nephew, Sajen.)
Truman is the only grandpa to three of his childrens', children, if that makes sense. What a great guy! I am greatful for their example to our children of serving a mission. In their set apart blessings they were promised that their family would be taken care of in their absence better than they could do if they were here themselves. Thank the LORD cuz we'll use all the help we can get!
This is such a sweet picture if you know what it is... This is my husband and his sweet mother saying good bye. He is the baby of the family and his siblings would argue, probably the favorite. We love you!

Thoughts...

I keep thinking so many thoughts about life lately. I learn so many things from reading others blogs. I read blogs about writing a book on faith building experiences, the loss of a child, to life after an airplane crash, to surviving leukemia, to regular everyday joys and struggles. I blog on a yummy recipe site, and on a mormon voices site and on my own. I seriously learn something new everyday and am uplifted and inspired by all of you. Thank you for sharing your talents with me and so many others. We truly are a blessed generation. Life is Good. God is Good! Tonight we went up Provo canyon with some of my friends from the MSW program for a get together, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. It was a lot of fun to meet their spouses and kids. I am grateful for this learning opportunity! I took these pictures of our little family up there before it got too dark.I loved this shot of Dave and David, I edited it to get a closer view.
Three of my most favorite people. I love these boys! The weather is nice and the leaves are all turning colors up there, it was wonderful.

A few pictures...

I have wanted to post these pictures for a while, but never took the time. Anyways, the first two are from our drive to St. George a few weeks ago... and the others are from our conference experience...I just love to show off these cute boys!

This is my sweet boy David who wanted to take pictures by the Joseph Smith statues(I think I mentioned it before). I hope my boys will follow the example of Joseph Smith. I am thankful for his life and love of God. I read the Work and the Glory series a few years back and my testimony of Joseph Smith the prophet will never be the same. I know he was called of God and fulfilled his calling as Prophet of the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ. My testimony however goes beyond the books. I could go on and on. What a Man! If you don't have a testimony of the divinity of his calling, I recommend praying for one and searching it out...I did not begin this blog with this in mind, but this is where it went. Life is good!

Joey is such a nice boy. He loves his big brother and appears to want to be just like him. The humor comes a little more naturally to Joey though. I'll have to post some examples when they come up. (Side note- Joey was named after my Dad, Joseph A. Terry, however I hope he also recognizes the man Joseph Smith as someone who he shares a name with.)

Family Time!

So all day Saturday little David kept asking "when can we carve our pumpkins?" so finally around four o'clock, after our lazy Saturday we took the boys outside to do just that, carve pumpkins. The cool thing about these pumpkins is that we grew them in our own garden at our "cedar home". There were just enough pumpkins for the four of us to have our own. This first picture is of the boys drinking their hot chocolate. Dave is such a good dad and husband, he went inside and came out with hot chocolate for all of us, its cold and its Fall in Provo.
Joey and his pumpkin "Jack".
David Jr. and his Jack-o-lantern.
Momma and boys.
Daddy and boys.

Does this Ever get any Easier???

This is my little David. I am dropping him off at school once again. I swear they grow everyday! For about the first month I would walk him into his class, now he insists on walking in by himself. I had to follow him without him knowing the first couple of times to make sure he could really get there... now I just sit in the car and watch him go inside that big school building. A couple of days ago when I dropped him off I got teary eyed so this day I brought my camera to take my mind off it and capture the moment. I love my boys. They are so sweet and are constantly saying "mom,... I love you!" I love them too!

TAG I'm It, I guess....

So I got my first tag and here goes... You are supposed to go to your 4th picture folder, 4th picture, then post and write about it. I guess I mostly thought this was a cool tag cuz I liked the picture it ended up on... (just look at it they are so CUTE!) This is me and my cutest boys in the world in Hawaii by the fishermans hat (I think that is what it is called). This was St. Patricks Day 2006. Joey was still nursing and after this trip I quit because well I won't get into details, so for the sake of some I'll spare the details... lets just say Joey had practically a full mouth of teeth and it was PAINFUL! I guess that pretty much sums that up. As for being in Hawaii this particular time we went with Dave's parents and siblings. We stayed in the same cottage we stayed in on our honeymoon, part of the time... It was fun. I love Hawaii and am glad I got to go there just barely on memory lane!
I guess now I am supposed to tag other people??? I tag Dran(cuz she needs to post), and Aunt Margie(cuz I think she needs an excuse to post), Stacie(as in Andrus), my new MSW friends (you know who you are), and Becky my new neighbor, Heather, Tiff and anyone else who likes their 4th folder, 4th picture.

Wonderful Weekend!!!

I won't post all of the pictures from this weekend, just a few for now... I'll post more when I don't have school to wake up to in the morning... In the Joseph Smith building my little David was so impressed with the Joseph Smith statues that he insisted on getting his picture taken with them by himself then with his Dad. It was so cute.
Here we are outside of the conference center. Dave stayed outside with the boys while I went to the Saturday afternoon session and I stayed outside with the boys while he went into the Sunday afternoon session. What a spiritual weekend for sure! Listening to those children sing "We thank thee o God for a prophet" was very moving!
Dave was reading to the boys on the tabernacle lawn, I thought it was sweet!
These are my wonderful in-laws who are leaving on their mission and are currently at the Provo MTC.

St. George...

Here are a few things that we did this weekend...Dave and his nephew Helaman. Hela plays football for Dixie High school, what a game, they won 36 to 3 or something like that.
These are my boys with their cousin Hela. He loves them and they love him. Silly boys!
This is my cute and sweet neice Jayden who was sealed to my brother/sister-in-law. It was such a special day. Jayden is wonderful!
This is most of Dave's family... we have not had a family picture for over three years so it was time for a new one and apparently none of the picts worked out too well. They called this Laguna Beach style...Dave's parents are leaving on their mission to the West Indes so it was their talk in church day...
????Isn't that a cute bunch???? I left my camera in St. G so these pictures have been emailed to me by family. Thanks girls! I'll blog some other pictures when I get my camera back.

Ok Hilarious

I just have to share with those of you who do not know about this blog... it's seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com. Check it out... I think it is seriously humorous! You may thinnk otherwise... I do not even know how to describe it, but it's basically a joke. Check it out. I especially think Angee, Britt, Dran, Lyndy, Tiff and Heather would love it!
